Hi, we have corresponded before regarding the Monroe lineage. I descend from Judge Thomas Bell Monroe. His father was Andrew Monroe, son of William and Rachel Piper Monroe. Thus Andrew named a daughter after his mother. It appears that Andrew Monroe and James Monroe were second cousins. Their fathers were first cousins and their fathers were brothers. I also believe that Rachel Piper Monroe married John B. Bush but I have never tried to document this information as I descend through Thomas Bell Monroe to John Adair Monroe, Thomas Bell Monroe and Mary Adair Monroe (my maternal grandmother. I would also like to note that Captain Thomas Bell father of Ann Bell served under George Washington and was in the Cincinnati Society. Burke's Peerage of Presidential Family's has my Ann Bell married to Andrew the brother of James. A huge mistake. I have a copy of the marriage from Albermerle Co, VA. I would also love to know why my Andrew did not serve in the Revolution or did he serve in a Patriotic manner and his uncle Andrew Monroe received credit because of the name Andrew. Another mystery unsolved. Too many burned records.
