GOD Bless you Lavona! This Susan Monks was first married to James C. Monroe McClain and if you look, she should be buried next to James! Susan's maiden was Moncrief. Her father was Sampson Moncrief and her mother was Sophia Braschier. I am the great great great grand daughter of Susan and James! I just got the info myself, this time last year! I'm still dearly wanting to find James C. Monroe McClain's parents. All I read is that he was born in Georgia, worked as a surveyor for the railroad, was handsome and was well educated young man who studied and practied law too! James met Susan at her parents place called the Mulberry Grove while surveying a railroad, a year later they were married(1834)Their eldest son was James who had a son named William Alexander McLain (here is where the spelling got changed!)Williamhad a son named George William McLain who had my dad George Walter McLain!
