Hi Ruth
I found this in the "1778, The Patriots of Washington Co., Maryland.
It gives a list of men and one of them was: Henry Mahniger.
I know your Moninger and my Monninger family has to be tied to each other some how. your John Moninger owner the same property that my John perchased later, lots 140-141 in Jerusalem, Washington Co., Md.

I also have a big question I need answered, for Peggy (or Margaret) Moninger who wed Walter Rutter on Aug 15, 1799. in Washington Co., Md. I have a feeling she may have been a sister or some kind of relation to my John.
