Search for Monger/Munger in Vermont

I have been able to search Monger/Munger back to a male listed in the 1840 United States census as Sarah Munger located in Bridgewater Township Windsor County Vermont. The 1860 US Census list Sarah Munger, age 44, living in Lorain Ohio with siblings Parker (m), Arabelle, Gamahiel (m), Adeline, and Adelbert (m). Can anyone share info on Monger/Munger in Vermont and New York, supposedly having served in the army in the War of 1812? There seems to be a link to a Sheldon Munger who lived in Wakeman, Ohio, and is buried there. We know of this from an aunt who recalls weekend trips before WWII from Mongers in Amherst, Ohio, out to visit relatives in Wakeman. Would appreciate any info.
