Monge Family is originated in Spain where it is a very common name. I believe it doesn't have a coat of arms... Im not shoore but I think that this family belongs to ex-jews that turned into christians.
In the Midle Ages it was very common acept these sort names: Cruz, Santos, Monge, Silva, and so on... It meant the family changed it's name.
Of course I'm not shoore of anything I'm saying... In my accout I think my side of the family was Arab or Muslim, because they are originated from the south of Spain (the last terrytory to conquested in the XVI th century).
My belief are based on small things like that... For instance: father has arabic looks.
I hope I helped you (sorry about my english)
Susana Monge
