(Mrs.) David Monfort - NY to Mich to KS

I have a wonderful obit for a Mrs. David Monfort who died 10-30-1883 in Geary county (ex -Davis county) KS - she was 65 years old. She was born Elizabeth Hendrix in Steuben County, New York. The marriage was 10-19-1853 and they apparently lived briefly in Utica (McCome county) Michigan before moving to Kansas. (One very undocumented family story has them going to the California gold rush.) The obit is very interesting but gives few facts. She had two children according to her obit. One was a daughter, Lillian (Lilleon) who married John Cameron of Geary county, Ks- where they lived and died. (Lillian's obit indicates that she was French-??) Who was the other child? This is a very peripheral part of a family that I am researching and I just thought this obit might be helpful to someone. I feel these people were related to the Monforts of Greeley, CO. because of physical resemblence. There is an album of 5 or 6 studio photos of Geary county Monforts - there may have been other Monfort relatives- Think they had a lot of land ... the pictures are excellent and they really remind me of Greeley Monforts whose pictures have been in the newspaper recently. Hope this helps someone. Will send copies... sc
