Martin's sister Elvey Anne Strickland is my direct ancestor. I like to trace all lines. I have that Martin was killed in the Civil War and that he married twice, Millie Money and Emaline Pittman or Peitmano. I have Emaline born about 1831 Abbeville, Alabama and married Martin April 6, 1847. I have Millie married Martin on Jan 20, 1859. I have Martin born June 1, 1827 in Abbeville, Henry County, Alabama and died before 1865 in White Sulphur Springs, Virginia. He was a private in the 61st Alabama Infantry Reg. Here is what I have on Elias:
Elias Strickland son of Philip Strickland, Sr.
Philip son of William Strickland, Sr.
William son of Matthew M. Strickland, II
Matthew son of Matthew Strickland, Sr.
Matthew son of Jacob Strickland
Jacob son of Roger Strickland
Roger son of William De Strkelaunde
(have further back but have not documented all of this) Is this what you have? I have wives, dates and siblings for a lot of this but need to know if this agrees with what you have. I have NOT documented yet. Appreciate any help.
