Andrew Jackson Monette (called "Jackson") was first son of Samuel Monett (b. 1801 Gladeville, TN, d. 1854 Sumter Co., AL) and wife Mary Gould both of Belmont area, Sumter County, AL. Samuel Monett was son of Rev. James Monett (b. 1780 Maryland, to Greene County, AL 1817, d. Old Erie 1834) and Rachel Sullivan (they m. 1801 Randolph County, NC, moved same year to Wilson County, TN, then in 1818 to Old Erie, Greene (now Hale) County, AL). Rev. James Monett was son of William Monett and Margaret Allnut (moved Calvert County, MD to Randolph County, NC). William Monett was son of William Monett and Elizabeth Dalrymple Kent Tucker (both of Calvert Co., MD). William was son of Isaac Monnet (b. 1670 Nirot, France, immigrated 1681 to London and 1695 to Staten Island NY, d. 1739 Calvert Co., MD)and wife Elizabeth Williams. Isaac Monnet was son of Pierre Monnet (b. Niort, France, fled 1681 to London, d. 1715 London) and wife Catherine Pillot. This line is documented back 5 more generations in France.
