My g-grandmother was Catherine MANNEE who married my g-grandfather Chauncy LAY. The
surname was MONNETT from Poitou, France.
Evidently, the MANNEE surname was finally adopted by the family line that settled on Staten Island, Richmand County,(Westfield), NY. The name took other forms in vaious other locations.
