My gg-grandfather was William "Lake" Monday of Claiborne Co., TN.He is buried in the Eli/Ely cemetery in Claiborne Co., TN.His headstone reads Lake Monda b. 7/22/1827 d. 11/18/1887.As I know it from family members his wife's name was Margaret Rebecca Norvell/Norville.I found a record of marriage on 2/14/1850 on the Claiborne Co., TN microfilm located at the McClung Library in Knoxville, TN.I have been trying to tie him to Jacob J. Monday for about 2 1/2 years because I to thought the name William "Lake" was unusual.I finally found an article that I believe to be very credible tying them together.According to the Anderson County historian this article would be deemed very credible.
I found this in the Lake City, Anderson County, TN Library.I was thrilled!I would have never dreamed of finding anything on my Monday's there.This may be the only link I ever find to link my Monday's together.I have been trying to link my William "Lake" to Jacob J. and Mallisa Monday.It looks like this information came from my great grandfather's brother, a son to William "Lake."TVA may be another place that we may be able to look for additional information.It seems that there may be several other volume's to this information.
I found this in the Lake City Public Library, Anderson Co., TN on 6/9/2001.From the book "Families of Norris Reservoir Area", page 166 & 167, Marshall A. Wilson Knoxville, Tennessee, May 1949; Property of Clinch-Powell Regional Library, Clinton, Tennessee, #232897;
NOTE:Photographs have not been included with this volume.They are on file with TVA.Other volumes contain 14 pages, averaging about 3 1/2 photos per page.
