I seek info on Alexander Moncur b. 1843 who lived in Lambeth,Surrey England in the mid 1800's. He was an engine fitter. He had two sons; Alexander Jr.b. 1869,who became a butcher and Walter,b. 1871,who was a compositor/printer. He does not have a wife listed when I have found him listed in the census.He was listed as desceased by the time Walter married in 1894. Walter settled in Henley on Thames, Oxfordshire, England in the 1890's.He married Edith Mary Norcutt and had three children: Edith Dorothy, Hilda Mary, and William Ronald Moncur. The only child that had children was Edith Dorothy,who had Hilda Molly Ryter. She was my mother.
I cannot find out who Alexander Sr's parents were? Does anyone know where he might fit in? I am going to assume that at some time his parents or grandparents had come from Scotland to England.
