Grandfather, Minor Barney Monaghan, b.11-1-1830 inEssex Co. Newark New Jersey. Died 2-10-1909, Jackson Co., Denison, Kansas. Minor came to St Louis , Missouri about the age of 12. Worked as a stationary engineer. He was raised catholic (to be a priest). There was at least one sister alive when he married my grandmother, Mary (Molly ) Douglass at Ray co. Mo. April 13 , 1869. In 1885 he moved his family (wife and daughter) to Tippinville (North Cedar later known as Denison) Kansas. A son was born while living at Tippinville. Grandfather had joined the Willowbrook Presbyterian church in Mo. later transferring his membership to the Presbyterian Church in North Cedar,
Denison, Ks.) He was in the Union service of the Civil War. After the war he returned to ST. Louis, the previous job and from 1865 -1885 he served in the various counties of north west Missouri.
His parents were from Ireland. The father possibably from the Limerick area. Names of his parents and any brothers and or sisters or any descendents is not known. Thanks for any help.
