Peter Monohon/Monohan/IRE/IN/IA

Am seeking information on my ggggrandfather,
Peter Monohon b<1776, Ireland. Information from LDS site says he was married to Silened(?) Shobe. His son that I know of was Owen Monohon b.1802 in Montgomery, IN, d.1882, married to Elizabeth Reid. Owen and Elizabeth supposedly had 10 children (of which one was David), and came to Iowa in the 1840's.
I am also interested in the variant spellings of the name. I have been researching MONOHON for some time, and rarely find it spelled this way.
Thanks for any help!
