I have grown up with a story I'm trying to figure out. My mother's mother was Giovanni D'Amore Grimaldi. My grandmother (Giovanni) was born from supposedly Prince Don Giovanni Grimaldi and Maria D'Amore. He had other children but supposedly never married any of the mothers. This Prince was suppose to own a castle called Duke De Craveigna and the Wolf's crest was also mentioned. I can't find any clues to this. I know he died August 25, 1929 and I know he published a will where he supposedly at first disowned my grandmother but later had a change of heart and included her in a revised will. The other children were Nicola,
Alfonso, Grazia, Elizabetta, Vincenza, Adele and Carlo.
the Prince had an Aunt named Donna Vincenza of Capo Solofra.
My grandmother supposedly was raised by the Prince and would go to another castle to play and somehow the Monaco Grimaldi's are included in this. French plays a part somewhere as well. When I questioned Monaco they either went by a typing error (not sure if I did that) or researched and came back with Grimalda and not Grimaldi.
But we have been told it was definitely Grimaldi. Anything you can add?
