Clive,

Do not despair. My Molyneaux's have either of their own volition or due to a census-taker's spelling, corrupted their last name to Molyneux-Mollinex-Mullinex-Mulnix-and many more, all of which I am finding are actually sisters and brothers. You will find that census-takers and immigration clerks were especially good at spelling things as they "heard" them. So look for clues with several spellings. Hope this helps.
