Johan,Good day!
My grandfather was Axel Tibutrious S. Molin, born 4/14/1872 in Gottenborg, Sweden. He died on 9/3/1922 in WilkesBarre, PA.He was a policeman.Axel was married to Gustafva Anna Soderberg, who was born in Halmstad, Sweden, 9/16/1870.Gustafva died 10/19/1928, also in WilkesBarre.Axel supposedly came from a family of 20-25 children.I recently found a tombstone in a cemetery in Jamestown, NY, for J.S. Albin Molin -- his year of death is 1910.J.S. Albin was married to Carolina. One of their children was Elfreida Molin Buck -- she died in 1950's.There is mention that either Gustafva's father of Axel's father was a mason and a Jew.There is a listing of an Axel T. Molin, age 15, leaving Alfshog parish in Halland County to sail to the U.S. from Goteborg on 7/8/1887... destination being WilkesBarre, PA.The name of the ship was not listed.Any info you can share will be appreciated. Our Molin was originally also Moline.Also... my father, Gilbert A. Molin, used to say this name came from a 100 year war somewhere on the continent -- a soldier came home to Sweden with this name.
Thank you!!
Linda Costanzo
