Hello Alex,
John Moir was a very popular name for my Moir relatives. We trace our family history back to John Moir b1804 Scotland d1895 NYC who married Agnes Jane Moir (They are mentioned in the Moir Genealogy book, as comming from Aberdeen/Aberdeenshire). He is my great great great great grandfather. John and Agnus came to NYC with their 6 children: John, Margaret, Ward, Jane, Agnes and William. Agnus Victoria Moir was my great great great grandmother. She married John Preston Smith, and they had 6 children: Agnes, Frances, William, James, Thomas and Emma. James Davis Smith was my great great grandfather. He married Susan Humphreyville , and they had 2 children: Emily and Frances. Emily Moir Smith great grandmother. She married Walter Erwin Sigler, and they had 7 children: Emiline, James, Walter, Helen, George, Paul and Ruth. Helen Hobart Sigler is my grandmother. She married Hubbard Scudder Edwards, and they had one child, my father: Hubbard Scudder Edwards Jr. He was a Capt. in the USN, retiring after 30 yrs. of service.
