Johann Hermann Mohr 1720 Mauchenheim, Germany

I have not seen any information on DNA research being used by posters on this site. Y-chromosone DNA profiling could be very useful in distiguishing various Mohr family lines and help establish common origins of similar profile groups.

I had my Y-DNA analysed at FamilytreeDNA but do not have any other Mohr's in the Surname Projects to compare DNA with.

My earliest Mohr ancestor is Adolph Mohr, father of Johann Hermann Mohr emigrating from Mauchenheim, Pfalz, Germany, arriving in Philadelphia on 20 Oct 1744 and whose family settled in Macungie Township area of Lehigh County PA.

Please contact me if you are considering having Y-DNA tested. If you are a woman, then you would need to have DNA tested from a direct Mohr male decendant.
