I have been seeking information about the parents and siblings of my wife's grandfather, Luther Moyer Mourer, for a long time.Luther was born in February 1856 in Mifflinburg, Union Co., PA.His half brother, Jacob V. Mohr was born there in about 1849 or 1850. This last week I found the following information in the 1860 and 1870 census. I feel I found Luther and Jacob but still don't know if I found the parents.
1860 census Union Co., PA HH1166- 1114
Jno Moore age 37 M
Esther Moore 37 F
U.R. Moore 73 F
D. Moore 11 M
C.orL. Moore 9 F
Luther Moore 4 M
Jno Moore 1 M
Hannah Hickel 78 F
Eli Wirtz 45 M
I suspect that D. Moore age 11 is Jacob V. Mohr and that Luther Moore age 4 is Luther Mourer. The ages are correct and Moore,Mohr and Mourer could be interchangable.

Kleehner, Catharine age 70 F Keeping House
Hartley, Amanda 31 F Domestic
Moore, Jacob 21 M Attending school
Mourey? Luther 14 M Attending school
I feel that these two young men are Jacob V. Mohr and Luther Moyer Mourer. I have no idea who Catharine Kleehner is but hope someone does.
Finding these two census lists doesn't lead me to the parents and siblings but does mean that I have found Luther and Jacob in every census from birth to death although it is possible that Jacob would show as a new born in the Union Co., PA census, I haven't searched that census yet. Does anyone out there know these people and can help me identify them as being the right Luther and Jacob?
