John Maffett, Lancaster County PA
Looking for info on John Maffett (Maphet, Moffett) in Martic Township, Lancaster Co, PA.
John Maphet served in Capt. John Patton's company of the Lancaster County Militia in the Revolutionary War. In 1782, he was taxed on 80 acres in Martic Twp. In 1784, he warranted 172 acres called "Moffett's Difficulty." He died in 1792 naming his wife, Eleanor, children Jenny, Josiah, Mary and Martha in his will. Josiah m. Mary Patton, d. of John Patton, and moved to Phelps, Ontario, NY. Mary Maffett m. Cunningham Patton (my line) and died in Martic in 1869.
Interested in finding John' ancestry and any info about Eleanor, including maiden name. Willing to share my info.
TIA,
