I am researching the Moberlys as well. My only known Moberly ancestor was Nancy E. Moberly, b. 8 May 1814 (or possibly 8 May 1815) in Kentucky--possibly Clark County. Cenus data is to the effect that her parents were born in South Carolina. On 19 Aug 1841, Nancy married Rev. John M. Talbott in Lawrence Co., Indiana. John Talbott's family was from Orange Co, IN. For what it is worth, they had sons named Edward (the eldest), John, James (after James Talbott), and William. Since children were often named after grandparents, can "Edward" be a significant clue?
