There were SHUMATES in WRIGHT CO. MO around 1860. Possibly the most prominent one was ARMSTEAD SHUMATE, who married REBECCA MINGUS in 1857. They are buried in the New Grove Cemetery near Hartville. Also Armstead's sister SALENDA was married to JOHN STARR. She died during the Civil War. The parents of Armstead and Salenda were JOSEPH SHUMATE and EDA WEBB, who are also buried in the New Grove Cemetery. (Although it's hard to find their tombstone, it's there.)

A couple of Joseph & Eda SHUMATE's children, Joseph & Rebecca, went to Webster Co. MO.

I would like to connect with anyone who knows the tiniest thing about these people. And if anyone has photographs of them or their children, I'd appreciate talking with you about getting a copy. I'd sure appreciate your help!
