Perhaps I could find out something for you. I am a distant cousin to the Barks and live here in Lowndes across from the cemetery. I also live close to the cemetery at Crossroads Church. My grandmother may have gone to school with some of Dora's descendents. She was born in 1927 and attended the Lowndes school part of her school years. She is still living.
I have a daughter, 12 years old, whom I homeschool. We are working on an historical fiction story about my grandmother. I am looking for anyone who may have background information on the Lowndes and Old Greenville areas from about the time she was my daughter's age (1938-39). Maybe we could help each other.
