I am from a LANE family - my maiden name - 'Lane'. I have researched my family from Iron/Madison Co., MO down through Reynolds Co., MO & on to Randolph/Lawrence Co., AR. I, too, found this marker in the Wesley Dixon Cemetery, near Hiram, Cowan Twp., Wayne Co., MO & wondered if he might have descended from my gr gr grandfather's family. My ancestors were Randolph & Biddy Lane. When they migrated from TN they landed in Madison Co., MO just a few years before the outbreak of the Civil War. During the difficult years that followed their family came of age & most began the migration to NE AR. I have thoroughly researched 8 of the Lane children but recently discovered a connection to 4 previous children (totalling 12 children altogether). If I find a connection I will gladly let you know.
