Found some of this family in the 1860 census living with the William Sartain family in Crooked Creek, Carroll County, AR, as follows:

William K. Sartain 32-Farmer-TN
Ellen 20- TN
John B. Virgin 56-Farmer-GA
Eliza 40-IL
America 16-MO
Sophia 16-MO
William J. 14-MO
(not sure of the name) ??? male-10-MO
Mary F. 1-AR
John 34-MO
Mary 19-AR
Samuel 22-MO
Elizabeth 17-AR

In this census ALL of the children are listed as if they all have the last name of Virgin (transcribed in this census as Vergin.
Hope this helps.
