1845 Epidemic?
Posted by: Lorna Dunklee (ID *****2198) Date: April 06, 2007 at 08:53:47

Was there some sort of epidemic in Washington County in 1845?

My ancestor, Alexander Thomson Alexander, his wife, Mary McCormick Alexander, and his brother, John Price Alexander, all died within three days of each other in mid-April 1845. John's wife Catherine McCormick Alexander died in June 1846.

Were there many more deaths in the area during that time? Other members of the family who died during that period were:
Mary Celina Alexander, dau of Alex and Mary, died 1846 in Iron County.
Myra Eveline, dau of John and Catherine, died in April 1846.
John Myers Alexander, a grandson of John and Catherine, died in Aug 1845.

I would be grateful for any information that might help answer this question.
