Four out of the six know children of Franklin Davis give his place of birth as Platte Co., MO. He was married first to Nancy Jane Brown c. 1858 and had the following issue:
Peter E., b. 1859 MO., m 1884 Sarah A. Davison in Jasper Co., MO., d. 1922 Jasper Co., MO.
Mary Elizabeth, b. 1862 Platte Co., MO., m. 1883 Jasper Co., MO. Daniel Bruce Smalley, d. 1943 Jasper Co., MO.
Uriah Davis, b. 1863 Cedar Co., MO., m. 1889 Rhodena Margaret Lemaster in Barry Co., MO., d. 1937, Barry Co., MO.
Robert E., b. 1865 MO., m. 1889 Capitola Dale in Jasper Co., MO., d. ? MO.
Anna Bell, b. 1867 MO., m. George W. Kirkwood 1885, Jasper Co., MO, d. 1953 Jasper Co., MO.
Jeff, b. 1868 Vernon Co., MO., m. 1895 Mettie Ellsworth in MO., d. 1936 Jasper Co., MO.
Then Franklin Davis married for the second time to Mattie "Martha" (maiden name, Smalley) about 1873. She had been married twice before to a Jones and then a Kauffman.
Issue for Franklin and Mattie were:
Samuel b. c. 1874 MO no further info.
Lillie A. b. 1877 MO no further info.
Lula, b. 1874 MO, m. 1891 Buchanan Co., MO to Harry S. Barr. A few of Franklin's children from his first marriage married children from Mattie's two previous marriages. It seems that he disappeared after giving permission for his daughter, Lula's marriage since she was underage in 1891. No info on where he died or where he is buried.
There is a lot of ideas on who Franklin's parents were, but there is no proof and this is what I am looking for. The sources as to who his parents were and where he is buried. Any clues?
