Patrick Whitaker m. May Hunter 1-22-1871 in Morgan County, MO.
By 1880 census, he was widowed. So, May had to die.

But between 1869-1880 they had a daughter , named Maude, who was born in Nevada, MO.
The father, Patrick moved on with the railroad, and left his daughter to be raised by someone there.
Patrick's sister, Jane (possibly Virginia) lived in Rich Hill,Mo, (next county over,Bates). I thought maybe Maude may have been raised in Rich Hill by his sister Jane.

Maude left Mo in 1898, and moved to Sweetwater, Tx.
Soooo, she had to live in that area for quite some time
20-25 yrs old when she moved.
I haven't checked the Bates county census yet.
This is a really interesting scenario

I thought maybe since there were Hunter's living in Nevada
, that she lived with them.
Also, Maude, had no children, husband died when they were young./ She corresponded with onone in our family.
So I can't get a lead on it. Connie csg16@hotmail.com
Thanks for your concern. I will keep trying.
