I am wanting information on James K. Polk NEILL and his family. Does anyone out there know anything about him?
He is a son of William Robert NEILL from Douglas County MO. William did the 1860 enumeration. I believe William may have had a couple of brothers or relatives also living in the same area.
I heard there was a fire and the NEILL family moved to Mississippi Co MO; in the bootheel of MO; SE side. This was about the time of the Civil War. I heard one of the daughters died near East Prairie, Mississippi Co MO. Don't know her name. I have just bits and pieces from Emails and what I see on GenForum.
Was James K. Polk NEILL married? Could he have been married to a Polly Ann SMITH? About 1867-68? Could he have had a daughter, Nancy Jane NEAL listed in the 1870 census of Douglas Co MO, age 2, born at Dugginsville, Ozark Co MO in the household of Frank OWENS, wife Sarah, 3 children with the surname of SMITH, Polly and Nancy NEAL, and a girl by the name of Rollans, maybe Sarah's sister or a daughter.
Nancy Jane NEAL/McNEIL (or whatever) married Ambrose Donaldson abt 1887 in Ozark Co MO. About 1900 she married Elisha McQuinn Cervin aka EMC aka Quinn SMOTHERS, maybe in Marion Co AR??
Sure would appreciate ANY help with this family. Maybe I can find my roots someday. Thanks for reading this, please help if you can.
