Sorry- but I haven't sought that information, because that is not the family member that I'm following. I would suggest that you search the U.S. census records for it. Remember- Kansas has the wonderful State Census- (1875; 1885, 1895, etc).

I did make the following notes in his file:

In 1850 MO Index there are persons named "William Middleton" living in the following counties and Twnshps:
Platt- Preston- pg 308 (also list a Rebecca Middleton in that twnshp- same page)
Platt- Green pg 374
Lincoln- 49th Dist- pg 4?0
Stoddard- Liberty pg 289
Audrain- 4th Dist pg 181
Monroe- (?) pg 130

Platt county would be the most logical place, as it was not far from Linn Co KS where the family apparently settled. A William Middleton is listed in the 1860 KS census index as living in Linn Co KS.

"MO Prisoners of War" lists W. E. Middleton of Mound City KS was sent to Alton IL on 24 Oct 1864.
