Nevada, My GG Grandpa Elijah Riley Bailey was born to David & Mary Wood Bailey in I believe Vermilion Co.In.Then the family went on to Coles & Cumberland Co.Illinois about 1842 & then they showed up in Sullivan Co. Mo. in 1860 but were back in Coles Ill in early 1860s as Elijah & his brother served in 123rd Il. Infantry living at Muddy Point. Then again David is back in 1870 Sullivan Census with no Mary so I think she died in Il. & David either went back before he died or died in Sullivan & they took him back to Ill. to be buried with her as they are not found in cem in Sullivan.David not on 1880 census.Elijah had a sister Martha Bailey Berry who was living in Cumberland Ill. Sumpter Twp. in 1870 & 80.I find my Jennings & Baileys mostly in Johnstown Cumberland Ill.David owned a Plat of land gotten in abt 1848 or 58 can't remember which in Johnstown area but at certain time this was part of Coles Ill.Elijah married Louisa Jennings in 1865 at Prairie City Il which is now Toledo Il. daughter of William Jackson Jennings & Nancy Jane Prince. They came to Johnstown area from Monroe Co.In.Then on to Sullivan Co. by 1870.Sumpter Twp is Toledo so all were in same areas.David had a brother who was in Coles Il before going to Iowa & back to Sullivan Mo by 1880 & is buried in same cem. as Elijah not far from where Daniel LaFavre is buried.I will look into any Parkers & Baileys I can.Deb
