The home of Stone County Historical Society is the old Galena Christian Church. The first clergyman was Rev. Watson around 1894. I wonder if this was my GG grandfather John Charles Watson? Or a relative? The land had been owned by F.M. Carr. My Watson counted S.A. Carr as a close friend in his daily journal. S.A. signed an affidavit for J.C.'s homestead application in 1895. The families of S.A. Carr and J.C. Watson shared a residence for the 1880 census.
