Pierce's that came to Stoddard Co., MO in the 1860's

Does someone know of a wagon train coming to Stoddard Co., Mo in the 1860's? My g-grandfather and his family were
coming to Missouri when their wagon turned over, killing
his parents. The two boys survived the accident. One was
my g-grandfather, Thomas Ulysses Pierce. He and his brother were taken in by two different families. If there
were other children in the family, I don't know. I found
Thomas living with the Amanda Stewart family in Duck Creek,
Stoddard, Co., Missouri when he was 10-years-old in the
1870 census. There was a "Chas. Pierce" who was 8-years-old living with the Presley Norrid family in the same town
in the same census. This may have been his brother. Does
anyone have info. about Thomas Ulysses Pierce or his brother? Maybe someone knows of the states the wagon trains were coming from in the 1860's or maybe someone
has some info. about a couple who was killed coming to
Missouri at this time. I have info. about Thomas Ulysses Pierce from the 1880 census, and info. about he and his family after he married Frances Elizabeth Ham in 1883.
My family and I don't know his parents' names or where they
came from. I appreciate any help.
