James Wookey was the brother of my great-great grandmother, Maryann Wookey Smith (wife of Edwin). I have information on their parents, George and Bridgett Maria Bryant Wookey and one of James' sons, Andrew Johnson Wookey.

George and Bridgett came to America in the 1850's. George died before 1860 as Bridgett was living with Maryann and her husband in Wisconsin. Another son, Franklin Wookey, went to California in the 1860's and lived in Butte County until he died. Andrew Johnson Wookey (James's son) also moved to Butte County and died there. There are some conflicting birth dates for George and Bridgett's children and I am trying to clear up the confusion.
