William Horton and his son David Pinkney lived in Stoddard County ca late 1850s - 1860s. I am trying to find what their occupation was, where they lived, in order to make a time frame for them while they were in SToddard County. They are listed in the 1860 census in Castor Township of SToddard County. I would like to know what newspaper might have been in existence at that time? Is there an abstract for this paper? Where can it be found?
Could someone point me in a direction to search. Is there a list of County officials? William may have been involved in government.
