I am related to Joshua and Rebecca (Sumner) Wright's son Jonathan H. Wright. He was born in 1812 in Highland County, Ohio. In 1835 he obtained a land grant in Hamilton County, just north of Indianapolis in Indiana. There he married an Elvira Shaul in 1835. They had two children, Lucinda who married a Wilford Jesse Langford (Lankford in the marriage records, all others use Langford), and William A. who I believe was killed at the age of 21 in 1861 in Missouri. Elvira Shaul Wright is supposed to have passed away between 1840 and 1843. Jonathan then remarried to 16 year old Indiana Moore in Hamilton County, Indiana in 1843. They had three children in Indiana, Matilda, Amos Moore, and my gggrandmother Elvira. They moved to Knox county in 1850 and Jonathan obtained two more land grants in Shelby County, Missouri in that year. They then had Martha Anna, Allen Sumner, Margaret, John, George R., and William Henry (Henry). They may have had more, but these are the ones found in the census records over the years.
Jonathan was keeping up with the Wright tradition of having a lot of children, and living long lives. There are few of these families that I have found with fewer than 12 children. By the way, Elvira was the second wife of Ezekiel T. Reed of Brown County, Ohio. His first wife had died in 1871 leaving him with 5 children. Elvira and he continued the tradition and had 14 more to make 19. Also of note. Elvira's sister Martha Anna Wright married her step-son. John Franklin Wright.
Any information on any of the children outside of Elvira and Martha Anna would be wonderful.
Good Luck in your hunt.
