These are from the family of the Daniel Stringer of the 1830 census of Scott Co., Mo.
Daniel and Margaret Stringer came from Virginia. After the death of Daniel Stringer, his widow remarried John Hale, who had also been widowed and had a large Hale family.
John Hale was married to Joan Hatcher in Franklin County, Virginia, on October 5, 1812. Her parents were Ward Hatcher and Temperance Greer.
By 1820, John C. Hale was in Davidson County, TN, with other Hatcher and Hale connections.
Elizabeth Hale, daughter of John and Joan, married Nathaniel or Nathan Anderson in Scott County, Mo., in 1848.
Their daughter, Ida Alice Anderson, born between 1872-1875 in Arkansas, was my mother's mother.
Ida, or Addie, married John P. Webb in Yell County, AR. They divorced in 1919 in Perry County, AR, when my mother was 14.
I've worked on this Hale and Anderson line for a long time and just recently came back to it and finally found some success. I did not understand the Stringer and Hatcher Connection until just a few weeks ago. I knew that John Hale or Hail, Haile, came from Virginia, but I didn't know from where. I am still trying to determine how John Hale fits in with the other Hales of Franklin and Bedford Counties, VA. John was born about 1787, according to the 1850 census. He was 63. in the 1860 census, Margaret Hale was living with her son Samuel Stringer and family.
I hope this posting helps someone with their Stringer research. I have never had contact with anyone of this line.
