Thanks so much Sherrie. I had part of this, but some of it is new to me. I had Ralph's parents but haven't found the marriage yet for Ralph Norman and Effie Estes, but I wonder if it could have happened in Howell County, Saint Louis where her Mother died late ron in 1935, or Scott County where she lived after marrying my grandfather. It may be Howell because their courthouse burned two or three times and then exploded once or had some type of explosion I think. It might be one of these happened around then though most of them were during the Civil War and right after I think anyway. I am not sure though of when each one happened. I know Howell County is very short on records of this kind. I sure wish I could find their marriage and his place of death but so far no luck. You would think it wouldn't matter to me as according to my Mother there were no children of that marriage but hey in genealogy even though there are no children you get curious about your grandmother's first husband <grin> I guess we are just curious people. Thanks again so much I had the 1900 census on Effie and her family (Mother sisters and brothers but only Ralph's parents I believe not some of the other information so thanks you again.
