1870 Census, Missouri, Cape Giradeau County, Whitewater Township, July 9, 1870, Page 26:

Sarah Piper, 35yo, Keeps House, MO, Cannot Read/Write
Rachel, 8yo, MO
James, 1yo, MO

There is a Rachel Piper listed on the 1880 Census in Kinder Township with the family of William Sr. Estes/Esles as a servant. Found only one James Piper on the 1880 Census living with grandparents (Jacob Stofer) in Wabash County, Pleasant, Indiana Page 46 but he was listed as 12yo in June whereas in July 1870 he was shown as 1yo.

Good Luck!
