Doris Hanan Lehenbauer, 91, of Hannibal, died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2009, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Smith Home & Chapel, with Rev. Helen McFarland officiating. Burial will be in Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
Mrs. Lehenbauer was born Dec. 18, 1917, near Granger, Mo., to Edgar and Vesta Heglar Hanan. On Aug. 19, 1950, she was married to Kenneth Lehenbauer in Fulton, Mo., with her brother officiating at the ceremony. Her husband preceded her in death on March 6, 2001.
She is survived by daughters, Melva Lehenbauer of Hannibal, Janet (Rodney) Cox of Hannibal, Brenda (Steve) Howard of Spring Hill, Kan., her twin sister, Dorothy Bleigh of Hannibal; six grandchildren, Eric (Laura) Cox, Katie (Patrick) McQueen, Craig (Kerri) Cox, Justin (Carrie) Caldwell, Jarrod Caldwell, Jenna Caldwell; and three great-grandchildren, Payton, Evie, and Paige McQueen. Also surviving are nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Lehenbauer was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Rev. Cleatus Hanan, and Dick Hanan; and two sisters, Aletea Lucas and Madeline Melson.
Mrs. Lehenbauer was a 1935 graduate of Hannibal High School. She worked at the Small Arms Plant in St. Louis during WWII and later retired from St. Thomas Seminary in Hannibal. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mary Magdalene Sunday School Class and United Methodist Women.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
