On May 30, 1904, Richard Byron "Doc" Martin attempted (and failed) to kill his wife, Louisa Elizabeth White, then wandered into a neighbor's field and committed suicide.
Doc and Louisa were my great-grandparents, but beyond a newspaper account of this incident, I don't know a great deal more about it, or about them.
I'm anxious to hear from anybody who knows more.
