This might sound dumb, but where did "smiser" spelling come from?

Going to look into the reunion, thanks for the heads up on that.

Incidently, I share a dual linkage to Michael Schmeiser whom was the first to america in 1731. Since he was my mother's (Fulcher) great grandfather!
