Hamm-Todd Connection?

I have found Dr. Strother T Hamm b about 1815-1816 Va on the 1850 census Howard Co Mo with son Samuel C age one. I think this wife would be Margaret Miller?
On the 1860 Saline Co Census his wife is Letitia M (Neilson) with child Lucy L. Howard and Saline Co are 'neighbors'. Right now this is all I know about him. My question is.....I have a Strother Hamm Todd..b 1846 Howard Co Mo my gguncle... born to Joshua Todd b 1809 Md married Margaret Jeffrey b 1811 Md. It looks like for sure somehow Todds or Jeffreys are connected to Hamm's. Does anyone have this connection? Anything appreciated.
