BTW-that is Collin Co., TX. I was born there, too.
Adam Calhoun's children were born in KY except for one born in MO. This is according to DAR info. Other records say the first 5 children were born in VA (before 1796) and Malinda, the last was born in MO in 1810. The earliest record I have of them in MO is 1819 however.
In many records, Adam Scott is listed as born in 1801, but that is because on the Pettis Census in 1850 he was listed as 49, but the census was probably taken before he had his birthady for that year. That was the only record some researchers had for him since they thought he was killed by Indians shortly after that. His tombstone says 1800. And he was reported to have been born in Barren Co., KY. I have Adam Calhoun on the census in Barren Co., KY in 1810. He also signed on a marriage there in 1816.
We must have 2 John L. Scotts--yours born in 1801 and mine in 1826. Strange! You wouldn't believe how many times "Adam" was used in this family.
