OK--so is William W. any relation to Adam Scott? Or did he just happen to live in the same area? If he isn't the same as William C.P., where is William C.P. after the family came to Collin Co.? I can account for most of Adam's children in Collin Co. in 1860 and most after that. One daughter, Mary E. is living with one of the brothers (Joseph Scott and Lucinda Ellen Snider) and one of the younger sons, James A. Scott, is living with my gg-grandparents, Aaron Harrison Snider and Ruhama E. Scott Snider. Also Dorinda Pettis Scott who married A.A. Campbell later on is with the Snider's. Benjamin A. and George Riley (second family)are still at home with Adam and Maria. On the 1870 and 1880 censuses, as I remember it, Adam's wife is listed as Louisa, but I can find no record of him marrying a 3rd time. He is buried on the Campbell lot at Fitzhugh Cem., but there is no marker, or any record, for his wife. I have wondered if she moved to live with her son, reportedly in NM, after Adam's death. I have no record of what happened to Nancy Elizabeth after the 1850 Pettis census, but Adam remarried in Dec. 1852. There is no record of where she was buried. The O'Bannon researchers don't have any death information on her. This is from Betty Singer, who lives in Pettis and is connected to the O'Bannon line by Polly, Nancy E.'s older sister. She knows a lot about the Scott line also since there are at least 4 connections to her Wasson/O'Bannon/Reagan lines. Diane, Think you and I discussed this son of Adam Scott at one time. I found a notation that he was born in 1826 in MO - married 2-14-1847 in Saline Cty, MO to Diana Hughes. They arrived in Oregon in October 1853 - see Volume II Oregon Records - Clackamas Cty, Oregon. You may know this - but just in case. Betty Dianne
