Found an obit for a Joseph G. Bayless:

St Louis Post Dispatch, page 12, col 5, June 1, 1931

Bayless, Joseph G - of 6324 San Bonita Ave on Saturday, May 30, 1931, at 4:50 pm dear husband of Florence Bayless (nee Tuchschmidt), dear father of Paul Bayless,dear brother of George Bayless, Mrs. E. Donzelot, Mrs. E. Goehring and Mrs J.T. Lynch and the late Jack Bayless and Anna Birmingham, our dear brother-in-law, and uncle.

Funeral from Kriegahauser's new funeral home, 4228 S. Kingshighway, on Wed June 3, at 8:30 am to St Lukes Church. Interment in Calvery Cemetery.

The Calvery Cemetery is in St Louis, not KC. If you check this link and do burial search (I searched for "Bayless") it'll bring up the family:
