I'd like to know about the schools, also. While researching Bridget BURK~E in the 1860 census today for St. Genevieve county, MO, I found out the Bridget was a professor of music. As I scrolled through the census and went to different pages, I found many persons who were academic. One gentleman was a student of medicine and another of mathematics. So this tells me there was a college close by. The reason why I'm curious about this is because oral history states my grandmother, Veronica Gertrude NALL nee BURKE, was a graduate of the conservatory of music in Kansas or Missouri. I'm trying to locate her school records and other pertinent data. Veronica was born FEB 12, 1868, Glenn, Johnson co., Kansas, to: Michael J,. BURKE and Catharine MARTIN, both natives of Ireland. Veronica married Robert E. Lee NALL FEB 20, 1895, KS. Veronica was a music teacher when she met Robert NALL at the home of his parents, John NALL and Susan Emma MOONEY in Mission, KS. I figure if Veronica went to music school in Ste. Genevieve, MO, it probably would have been between the years of 1881 - 1887. Please, if anyone has any information about colleges in Ste. Genevieve, MO, you may contact me direct at the following address. Thank you. Warm regards, Carol cveio@sbcglobal.net Notify Administrator about this message?
