Have you read Zachary (Jack) Duclos' two-volume work "The Way We Were" which was published a couple of years ago? Jack has spent a lifetime collecting and even personally tracking down (in Canada, etc.) info, and his 2-vol. work is very informative though possibly, of course, less so on more recent stuff since the main thrust was the ancestry angle.
