Abraham Eades/Eads was taxed in Henry Co VA at least by 1782 perhaps earlier (i don't have any earlier records).
He married Mary Margaret Mullins 11 Nov 1787. He had been married before and it is thought 1st wife's name was Sallie Gay.
I have not followed him throught Henry Co. except that he received a land patent there in 1795.
After the record in Wythe Co Va he apppears in land and tax ecords in the Logan Co Ky area and arrived in St Genevieve Co,Mo
sometime before Sept 1799 when he filed for a Spanish land grant saying he had been there a year and had brought his wife and seven children.
He was one of the 30 familes that Moses Austin had been permitted to bring into the area to develop some lead mines.
Abraham was probably recurited by Austin Jan 1797 when Austin was returning to VA from St Genevieve via Nashville.
His land gant was just east of Bonne Terre (which is now in St. Francois Co).
He seems to have been a carpenter for Austin and his name appears several times in Austin's accounting records
which are at the Barker Library at the University of Texas I believe.
His known Children were Abraham, Samuel Gay b 1778, Thomas b. 1779, William b 1781, Abner, Mathias b. 1786-7 (Mathias is my line)
Margaret c 1792, John Long b. 1795-1800. In Feb 1808 he was giving land to William and Thomas Eads (no consideration).
He returned to the Logan Co Ky area, joined the South Union Shaker colony and died there 1812.
