Wm. HAWTHORN & Priscilla GILLELAND

I wonder if anyone knows of William HAWTHORN/HATHORN son of Eugene HAWTHORNE and Mary THOMPSON? William married 1. Mary DELANY (probably in Ireland) 2. Priscilla Williams/Guilleland? on 30 June 1800 in Ste. Genevieve District, Upper Louisiana Territory.

"In the year of 1800 on the 30 June I received by mutual consent from William HATHORN, son of Eugene and of Mary THOMPSON, native of County Down, Ireland, widower of Marie DELANY, deceased, in this county of Presbyterian Religion on the one hand, and Priscilla, daughter of John GUILLELAND and of Elizabeth YOUNG, native of Co. Bedford, of the Province of North Carolina in the United States and of the Presbyterian religion on the other part.

Not having discovered any impediment to the marriage I have married them according to the laws of his majesty toward non-Catholic subjects, they having promised to conform to the laws of the country and to have their children baptized according to the rites of our Mother Church and this is in the presence of witnesses and friends who have signed the ___ us. Ste. Genevieve."
This document was translated from the French by Joyce Pion for Patricia Bishop Obrist July 1999. ("Ste. Genevieve Parish Records, 1764-1843," Vol. 5, p. 25, from microfilm, Western Historical Manuscript Collection, State Historical Society of Missouri)

I am interested in William's first spouse, Mary DELANY. I have an ancestor, Mary Ann DORSEY, daughter of Michael DORSEY and Mary Ann DELANY/DELANA, who also turns up in this same location in 1819. Young Mary Ann, born in Philadelphia in 1812. Her parents were born in Ireland. I am wondering if these families are linked in any way.

Thanks for any help!
Pat Bishop Obrist
